This is a hilarious extension of the ‘workwear aesthetics without being an actual laborer’ conundrum — as evident from the recent Carhartt jacket parody thread. Fortunately, judging from the inspo album, I highly doubt any “real sports fans” are gonna put you in an awkward conversation about how actual teams are doing. I ended up buying a used Beams Plus varsity a year back with no idea of what to wear it with and it became my Official Billard let me know if my balls get in your way vintage shirt absolute favorite jacket, assuming you have real wool and leather they’re way warmer than they look more versatile than I was expecting.

At least IMO the ones covered in logos, even if they aren’t actual school logos, make it look like you peaked in high school and are still trying to relive those days, but plain ones are already super interesting on their own and go well with a lot. This is a great guide and a great album. When I first saw the title I thought of Ralph Lauren. Similar time period and sense of nostalgia, but he’s evoking the sports played by rich kids at prep schools. It’s fun to Official Billard let me know if my balls get in your way vintage shirt think about both the similarities and the contrasts when you’re seeing it done with baseball and football instead of rugby and polo.

I think it makes sense to have this focus on Baseball and Football as those are quintessentially American. Basketball to me has many more streetwear associations and I don’t think would fit in as well (the sport practically invented sneaker mania/fashion) and I can’t really think of any clear hockey-fashion associations. But I can instantly picture a coach’s jacket or varsity or an old school collegiate sweater (like a grey crew neck with an Official Billard let me know if my balls get in your way vintage shirt huge green D). It reminds me of leisure before it was at leisure. I love the album it’s given me some great inspo for sportswear that isn’t preppy-ralph Lauren-rugby stuff and a little more rugged/Americana!
