Don’t get me wrong, I’m super happy that there are new computer systems being added, and particularly something as rare IRL as Sony NEWS, but… I’m kinda sad it’s a MIPS system that’s being emulated. The only version of NEWS-OS that is widely available is 4.2.1 which is for the Motorola 68000 based systems. And unlike AIX or even something rarer like Interactive UNIX, NEWS-OS rarely comes up for sale. Makes me sad I’ll likely never be able to use it.EPSXE was always my favorite go-to PSX emulator (I even bought it for my old Android phone). But there hasn’t been any movement on it in 4 years on Windows. The Nice Teacher Battery Summer Recharge Required Shirt state of plugins for it is much worse.

I realize that Retroarch (Beetle, aka Mednafen) is the hotness that is actually seeing development these days. And with PGXP working properly now, it’s all but a done deal as far as what to use. But I have found Retroarch to be…more…than I need. It is rather complex, and I miss the relative simplicity of EPSXE. In reality, my biggest problem is that cheats on RA are very hit-or-miss as to whether or not they’ll even work. EPSXE was a lot, and I mean a LOT, more hit than miss. I was thinking about this recently. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is one of my absolute favorite games of all time, but I never Nice Teacher Battery Summer Recharge Required Shirt owned it on Gamecube, only discovered it a couple of years ago through Dolphin. I’d put it in my top five all-time for sure.

There’s also Money Puzzle Exchanger, a puzzle arcade game I never saw in person but quickly became one of my favorites after trying it emulated on uh … something. Playstation? I can’t even remember where now, but I play it at least once a week these days and have for several years now. Going older than that, I gained an affinity for the Vectrex despite never having one growing up. I’m now fascinated by the Nice Teacher Battery Summer Recharge Required Shirt emulation of vector screens and can’t wait to see if more strides are made in that field as TV technology (HDR, etc) keeps improving.
