I really like this. It feels natural, and the characters actually all learn something. Plus it preserves and builds upon Last Jedi to move the story forward. And it preserves Lucas’ vision of this story about a family. Oh how I wish this was the movie we got.Great job. So much better than what we got and it felt like a more natural progression from what TLJ set up (and I’m not even a big fan of TLJ). This is the best one I’ve read by far! I don’t think the movie would really need to give too much explanation, but basically the First Order is Palpatine’s contingency plan. Palpatine’s plan was to burn down the Empire that failed him, regroup in the unknown regions, rebuild an Empire using cloning technology, while his Sith Cult leader (Snoke, A Sith no one knew existed) collected Plageuis’ teachings stored on holocrons. Snoke used the Knights of Ren (Resurrection) to do this and lured Kylo to join them. Palpatine left an imprint of his personality on his ring, which is how he manipulated him (like a mask of Momin). Hux found Snoke dead and took the ring, which led to him becoming the Top Baby Yoda Face Mask Hug H-E-B No Days Off Shirt Cult Leader. Hux would take Snoke’s role since Kylo believes the Sith should die with the past.

I understand, but TROS tends to over-explain as it is. Either conclusion you presented works. Sometimes it’s better for the audience to guess or really dig. They have all the info they need: Hux was Second-in-command. If he doesn’t like Kylo, then who does he serve now? Maybe he was lured by the same promises that Palpatine has used with others. It all works even without the ring. I just tried to touch on the major plot points. There are definitely some visually interesting things that happen in the movie: Fire and Ice combine to make water. Light and Dark meet to produce balance. It’s a Top Baby Yoda Face Mask Hug H-E-B No Days Off Shirt lot like both ROTJ and ROTS. They could’ve done great things with story threads they already had instead of scrapping them for the convoluted mess we got.
