I think it’s more I need the money vs anything. Saying that as someone who works as a FB moderator. I can Steely Brown Shirt tell you 100% that when I became a content moderator, they made it explicitly clear what kind of work I was signing up for in the interview. Then there was a month of training with tons of visual examples of the kind of violence, hate speech, and pornographic content we were expected to moderate. When people signed up to work there, they should have known exactly what they would be dealing with. I know an officer that did this and has now retired with PTSD.

I would not want that job even for a 6 figure salary. Is it even legal for these companies to possess child  Steely Brown Shirts porn? I guess they can say we couldn’t possibly know. What it is before it appears but still at some point. They should be shut down. And YouTube told us to deal with the problem or shut down themselves. They don’t own the content. They just kinda rent out their employees to whichever website wants them to moderate their content. Moderators or the companies they work for don’t own the content they review, all they do is check if it adheres to the guidelines and, if not, remove it.
